Casper and Daniek welcome you

Hi, we are Casper and Daniek, and together with dog Fitou, we would like to welcome you to our campsite. We followed our dream and left for the South of France. We also make pizza every Thursday evening in our restaurant at the campsite! Will we see you soon?

What is there to do at Charmcamp Pittoresque?

In the middle of nature and situated on the banks of the Lot river, you will find Charmcamp Pittoresque. The campsite is located in a valley among the French mountains, so you'll experience the holiday feeling right from the way there! Waking up to the sound of the river and the birds singing... who wouldn't want that? And if you look carefully you might spot the woodpecker, owl or pine marten from your spot!

To cool down, there is an outdoor pool open from May to September. There is also a small stone beach where you can drift off, which is great fun especially for the children! The campsite has a playground with table tennis and in high season there is an entertainment team for the children.

Are you a sports fan? Have fun on the sports field or challenge yourself to a game of volleyball. There is also a traditional boules court, which you can't miss during your holiday in the South of France.

The campsite also has a terrace with a restaurant and bar. Here you can enjoy a nice meal in the evening! Ideal if you don't feel like cooking after a day of vacation fun. *Please note: in the early season, the restaurant opening hours may vary.

In the morning the restaurant is open from 08:30 to 10:30 (09:00 -10:30 on Mondays) for the sandwich service and a cup of coffee.
Dinner is from 18:30 and only possible if you place a reservation before 18:00. In the restaurant you have an a la carte menu, but often the campsite organizes fun evenings like a pizza night or a chicken on a spit night. For more information ask the owners on site what evenings they have scheduled.
The bar is also open in the evening for a drink.

Surroundings

In the surroundings of Charmcamp Pittoresque, you won't have to be bored! Whether you are a nature lover or prefer to visit medieval villages. There are several villages nearby, and of course the local market cannot be missed during your visit to France. Casper and Daniek will be happy to tell you locally what you really don't want to miss during your holiday but we have already listed the highlights for you!

The village of Conques looks like it came straight from a postcard!

Conques is one of the must-sees in the area, and just a 15-minute drive from the campsite. This medieval village is located in the mountains and has considerable height differences. The village could be straight out of a postcard! In the middle is an old church, which can also be visited. This village has several restaurants where you can go for a bite to eat and a drink.
Conques - 15 min, 13 km drive

Visit the caves of Padirac.

The Padirac caves are an impressive outing for the whole family. When you arrive at the caves you will see a hole 100 metres deep, here you can go down by lift or stairs. After a short walk through the corridors of the cave, you will arrive at the underground river. From there, you board a boat and sail to another part of the cave. Along the way, you will see beautiful stalagmites and stalactites. At the end of the boat ride, you can continue walking to explore the caves.

There really is no picture to describe how grand the caves are. A visit takes around 2 to 2.5 hours on average and we recommend booking tickets in advance.

The caves are a bit further away from the campsite, namely 1 hour and 15 minutes, but really worth it! A visit to the caves can be combined well with Rocamadour, just a 20-minute drive from Padirac.

Chances are, when you think of Rocamadour, you think of goat cheese, but the city has so much more to offer than just its famous cheese!

Chances are that when you think of Rocamadour you think of goat's cheese but the town has so much more to offer than the cheese! Rocamadour is a town built against sloping rocks and has many sloping staircases. It is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in France, and there are no less than 7 churches you can visit. Its height and architecture make it a spectacular sight when you drive up, but even more so from the car park at the top, which offers great views!

Padirac to Rocamadour - 20 min drive
Rocamadour - 1 hour 15 min, 75 km drive

Visit the waterfalls of Salles-la-Source, the city of Rodez, and the medieval village of Belcastel.

What is also good to combine are Salles-la-Source, a beautiful waterfall that you drive past on the way to Rodez, and Belcastel on the way back. This waterfall is in a small village, and is especially visible when it has rained recently. Get further in the car to Rodez, a large city with monumental buildings, museums and shops. On the way back, you'll pass Belcastel, this medieval village is a real picture. You really must have been here!

Salles-la-Source - 40 min, 37 km drive
Rodez - 57 min, 50 km drive
Belcastel - 48 min, 44 km drive

And all the other beautiful sights near this small-scale French campsite.

Not to forget: in the surrounding area, you can visit various vineyards, enjoy wonderful hikes, and go canoeing!
